본문내용

Realizing the increasing dominance of multiculturalism in South Korea, the article “South Korea's Most Dangerous Enemy: Demographics”, written by Brook Larmer in the New York Times Magazine, analyzes certaincontextual reasons for rising immigration and defines some types of migrants in Korean society such as Joseonjok, North Korean defectors, and foreign immigrant women (2018). As analyzingsome positive impacts of immigration on the Korean society, the article urges that South Koreans should embrace and prepare the globalization of South Korea and multiethnic society for the good of economic development (Larmer, 2018). However, at the same time, the article recognizes the particular circumstance of South Korea, which has long been identified as a homogenous country in both contextual and cognitive aspects (Larmer, 2018).
