In 1983, after extensive research, Howard Gardner suggested a new theory and classification of intelligence entitled Frames of Mind. According to his research, there are nine forms of intelligence. This essay will describe each of these and how they may be useful in teaching in general and music in particular. Finally, this paper will reflect upon how this theory is useful in my own learning.
In his "theory of multiple intelligences," Gardner argues that human beings have evolved to be able to carry out at least nine separate forms of analysis.
