1. Generation of FM signals
2. Reception of FM signals
1. Set up the modules as shown in Figure 5-11. Make sure all OUTPUT LEVEL and GAIN controls are turned fully counterclockwise to the MIN position, and power up the equipment.
2. Set the RF GAIN of A2 on the Indirect FM/PM Generator to 50% clockwise. With no signal applied at the AUDIO INPUT of the Indirec FM/PM Generator, measure the frequency of the signal at TP6, and at the PM / NBFM RF OUTPUT and record your measurements. Use a1 probe at the Frequency Counter input when measuring frequency at a test point. The test points may be reached through the hinged panel on top of the module. 3. Measure the frequency of the signals at TP20 and TP15.
4. Adjust the RF GAIN of A3 to 50% of its maximum and then measure the frequency of the RF signal at the WBFM RF OUTPUT.
5. Connect the oscilloscope to the Spectrum Analyzer and calibrate it at 100 MHz after selecting the 85-115 MHz FREQUENCY RANGE. 6. Make the following adjustments on the Spectrum Analyzer.
