Product Placement originated from getting support from the corporate so that when producing a movie, it could get all props it needed and it takes a form of indirect advertisement. However, countless number of advertisers and disinterest from the audiences made it difficult to promote items through broadcasting and newspapers. Product Placement or PL is a lot more economical way of stimulating consumer’s desire or consumption and this drives many companies eagerly looking for such opportunities. In contrast to television commercials that you can avoid merely by switching channels PL in movies approach audiences effectively but unconsciously. This essay will illustrate the effects and effluences of product placement on audience and explain the reasons behind having product placement in mainstream Hollywood movies.

We live in a flood of media images and come in contact with just as many items. Such items will naturally be planted in to the audiences’ unconscious mind and will arouse desire for ownership of targeted item.
