At first, while I was reading, I was looking at Bertha with envious eyes because she had everything. Her life seems quite perfect. She was young, has loving husband, a lovely baby, interesting friends (writers, painters, and people who wrote poems), wonderful house and garden and no money worries.
8:00 pm – 8:30. I read 11 pages.
However, her life was not perfect as it seems. One day she sees something during her house party that destroys her happiness in an instant. She sees her husband kissing Miss Fulton at the back of the hall, whispering to each other and realizes that they are having a relationship. When I finished reading this story, I felt so sad for Bertha and I was really shock in the end when I found out that her husband is cheating on her.
