1. What is the Leadership
Leadership is the process where a person exerts influence over others and inspires, motivates and directs their activities to achieve goals.
The main function of leader is to clarify and set goals with subordinates, help them find the path for achieving the goals, and remove obstacles.
Motivation is a general term applying to the entire class of
drives, desires, needs, wishes, and similar forces.
To say that managers motivate their subordinates is to say that they do
things which they hope will satisfy these drives and desires and induce the subordinates to act in a desired manner.
Path-Goal Approach to Leadership Effectiveness
Each of subordinates has their own needs and desires
and a different set of goals.
Company or organization gives some of the satisfactions that individuals seek so that they get ‘Higher Productivity’
