→ In this laboratory, we will design passive component of wireless RF system using HFSS. In detail, we will design filter using Richard's transformation and Kuroda's identities. Also we will design stepped impedance low-pass filters and coupled line filters. Filter is very important component in wireless RF system. So we can have design skill of filter by learning this laboratory.

→ We can design filter by a variety of method. One of them, the lumped-element filter design, works well at low frequencies, but two problems arise at microwave frequencies. First, lumped elements such as inductors and capacitors are generally available only for a limited range of values and are difficult to implement at microwave frequencies the distances between filter components is not negligible. Richard's transformation is used to convert lumped elements to transmission line sections. The transformation,
