● Object

→ In this laboratory, we will study concept of wireless RF system. in detail, concept of heterodyne , homodyne(direct-conversion). and we know it's advantage and disadvantage of each. so we will know widely basic concept of wireless RF system. also we will learn to use the most usefule tools, which are called ADS, HFSS so we will be improved our design skill of RF system.

● Question & Answer

1. Explain homodyne (direct-conversion)
(Let explain homodyne and write the advantages and disadvantages.)

→ RF receiver is consist of antenna, RF amp, filter, mixer, local oscillator. Which perform down conversion from RF signal to Baseband signal. And if it is direct, then it is direct conversion receiver. Then let we detail know it. The direct conversion receiver uses a mixer and local oscillator to perform frequency down conversion with a zero IF frequency. The local oscillator is set to the same frequency as the desires RF signal, which is then converted directly to baseband.
