A recent statistics surveyed by the Ministry of Health and Welfare found that a number of single men and women in Korea think marriage is just optional not necessary. They said that between 2009 and 2012, there was a drop in the percentage of young men and women who think marriage is necessary. According to the survey, the number of single men who think marriage is necessary is less than 70%. Also, the number of single women who think marriage is necessary is less than 60%.
