1) What are EMS and SCADA?
☞ EMS is meaning Energy Management System. It is a system of computer-aided tools
used by operator of electric utility grids to monitor, control, and optimize the
performance of generator and/or transmission system. When it comes to managing
the energy consumption of a company, it is often best achieved through the use of
an energy management system. These devices can monitor a wide variety of things in
an attempt to find the greatest users of energy and then the companies can make
the appropriate adjustments as necessary. These systems are designed to help give
a company the information they need to make changes to increase energy efficiency and potentially reduce the overall energy expenditure. An energy management system
can be of great use to owners of duplexes or other multifamily buildings as it
allows them to monitor the energy usage of the tenants individually.
