Definition of human trafficking
According to UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime), “Trafficking in persons shall mean the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation.”

The economy of Romania is at a seriously low level, and the gap between rich and poor is huge. We can not deny that the economic situation leads people to human trafficking. Most of the trafficked women and children want to get out of their poverty, and they are attracted by the fake advertisements. Now, the Romanian government is trying to eradicate human trafficking with law reform and enforcement of the new laws to prevent human trafficking. Concerning prevention,
