본문내용

Globalization can be described as interconnectedness and integration as well as fragmentation. But in becoming more embedded in frameworks of global and regional governance, states confront a real dilemma: in return for more effective policy and meeting their citizens’ demands, their capacity for self ?governance- that is, state autonomy- is compromised. Based on these trends in globalized ear, there is some place which has a lot of conflict between state and the region such as Quebec in Canada, Basque in Spain, Alberta in Canada, Northern Ireland in Ireland, Chechen in Russia, and the Kurd in Iran and so on.

Eventually, the region which wanted to be separated from the state cannot get more profit than remain. Because the trend of globalization and development are going with social integrity, block forming. For developing their own countries when they achieved autonomy and sovereignty, they would go into the block form because it’s the only way to gain more advantage in this stream. For example, some countries which got the sovereignty through the separation movement such as Slovakia, Slovenia, Lithuania, and Montenegro which located in Eastern Europe recently joined the EU or intend to do so. This is very ironical that separatism also can fuel regional integration. If Catalonia and Quebec achieve their full degree of autonomy
