When I was young, I learned the multiplication tables and recited the English alphabet by singing related songs. So do the children of today. When singing, Memorizing them become easier magically. Also, Students often listen to some classical musics by Bach or Mozart when they study. But why do we connect these learning activities to music? Meanwhile, patients are sometimes healed by the invited singer`s concert in hospital. How they are? Here are two articles dealing with effects of music on us.
In `Article 1`, largely, two kinds of musical effects are introduced. First, music can help us work better, and here are two reasons for that. One reason is that it makes some positive attitudes to work; being motivated, having interest to the work, and feeling self-confidence. Another reason is that it improves the condition of brain for work by stimulating the brain areas of thinking, planning, and critical analysis and by strengthening our memory, concentration, and creativity. Second, music can help us become healthier (both physically and psychologically). It can manage one`s stress, treat depression, decrease anxiety, and cure insomnia. It can also alleviate patient`s sufferings and aid recovery by secreting endorphin.

For music to have positive effects on the mind and brain, it should be complex enough to involve brain activity. It should be synchronous and generate sound waves that are in tune with the body`s internal rhythm. It should be played at a volume the listeners` ears can accept and should have regular beats to have any good effects on the body and mind rhythm and functioning. Here are some of the negative effects of music on the mind.
