I. Introduction
According to the Asian language notes (Australian government publishing service, 1984), sentence rhythm is one of Koreans’ crucial problems and that since Korean language does not use stress as much as English to mean something different, they tend to ignore the stress in English. By using controlled and communicative practice with stress differences, I will concentrate on the sentence stress, because it conveys meaning and it makes speech more clear and intelligible to others (Kelly, 2000). Students will be told that as there are strong and weak syllables in words, there are strong and weak forms in English sentences. Maybe a comparison of Korean language, being syllable timed, and English language, being stress timed would be good, so students can hear the difference.
