RESPONSE FOR EACH FILM.
The Official Story(1985) by Luis Puenzo
The official story is basically the story of one woman`s odyssey from complacence to political awareness. Norma Aleandro delivers a tour-de-force performance as Alicia Marnet de Ibanez, a middle-class history teacher who begins to suspect that her adopted five-year-old daughter may have been taken from political prisoners under the military junta of the late 70s-early 80s. This is an astonishing film from the first frame to the last. This movie is very well written and played. The film does a wonderful job explaining the situation in Argentina between the years of 1976 till 1983. During this period there were many people who disappeared from Argentina homes suddenly by the hands of the government and never seen again.
