Introduction : Universal Declaration of Human Rights
Body : Government has no right to view suicide as a crime
Additionally, some people might assert that if the government views suicide as a crime, it would decrease the rate of suicide. According to the research about the rate of suicide, we can notice that there is no big difference between states in US whether it consider attempted suicide as a crime or not. North and South Dakota, Washington, New Jersey, Nevada and Oklahoma treat suicide as crime since 1963.
As we can see, there is no big difference between states such as Washington which views suicide as a crime and other states. Therefore, the assertion that the certain regulation could decrease the rate of suicide is not true. It could help to reduce the rate in some ways but it is not the effective way to prevent suicide in advance.
