1. Introduction

1-1. Why E-LAND?
Our team chose E-LAND to understand how organization theory applied to a company in reality. Because we thought E-LAND had special characteristics related to religious culture different from those of other companies.
We`re going to examine E-LAND and E-LAND `s characteristics of the organizational culture and inspect problem of E-LAND `s character.

1-2. Introduction of E-LAND
Establishment and growth of E-LAND - "The story of Eland is going on"
The founder of E-LAND d, Park sung-su, established a small store called England in front of Ewha University in 1980, and made a the first step to a huge success. From the very beginning of it, the production was operated by outsourcing, and marketing by franchise system. Besides, the head office made a big growth as it focused on distinguished business plans which held many functions such as merchandising and designing, and niche market aiming at down markets. In the early 1997, IMF period, it built a strong financial structure by restructuring the company, and from 2000 it could achieve productivity renovation through knowledge management. Based on this capacity, E-LAND has taken growth strategies through M&A and could continue to niche market from 2003. Recently they acquire Carrefour, now they grew to middle standing company have 11 interrelation-company. E-LAND secured 88 circulation shops synthetically. Also the sale size of E-LAND accomplishes to total 3,467,800,000,000 won.
