The Korean meal consist of rice, soup, and side dishes.

The best-loved Korean side dish is Kimchi.

Korea was once primarily an agricultural nation, and Koreans have cultivated rice as their staple food since ancient times. These days Korean cuisine(요리) is characterized by a wide variety of meat and fish dishes along with wild greens and vegetables. Various fermented(발효한) and preserved food, such as kimchi (fermented spicy cabbage양배추), jeotgal (seafood fermented in salt) and doenjang (fermented soy bean paste) are notable(유명한) for their specific flavor(맛) and high nutritional value.
