Korean Air considers budget airline business <3/26, Korea Herald>
Korean Air Co., the nation`s largest carrier, may enter the low-cost airline business if the government allows budget airlines to fly overseas, its president said yesterday.
"We are considering establishing a low-cost carrier unit, separate from Korean Air," Chairman Cho Yang-ho said at a news conference.
"We don`t believe low-cost airlines are needed for domestic routes but if they are permitted to operate short-haul overseas routes, we may also launch a budget carrier. But there are no specific plans yet."
