SWOT Analysis is one of the techniques for planning marketing strategies. It originated from Ken Andrews’ theory to find the strategic fitting into an enterprise or an organization. Today, it is applied to a wide variety of cases and is more simple than we expected. Let us look into SWOT.
To accomplish the goal of SWOT analysis and find out the marketing strategies, it needs to research into ‘4 factors’. Those are strength, weakness, opportunity and threat. First, strength and weakness should be examined through analyzing the inside environments of the case. Then, the other two factors, opportunity and threat should be comprehended through analyzing the outside environment. It shows us what kinds of strategies we should focus on or give up. On top of that it makes us know how to make up for the weakness. If you want to make acute strategies, it will be useful to compare your own SWOT analysis with that your competitor’s.
