Semiconductors for Micro and Nanosystem Technology

This book says that semiconductors and its main properties specially silicon. To understand for Nanotechnology, we have to know about devices that are used today.
Now it is the field of electronic engineering that is nearly approach to the nanotechnology. Yet we developed several tens of nano size devices. And we can make chips used them.
In thse cases, silicon is important material. Because most electronic devices are manufactured on the silicon wafer surface. Of cause you know, wafer is made of silicon.
The goal of nanotechnology is makeing a few nano size devices. If we make it to use Top-down production (when devices be smaller and smaller), there will be arised many problems. Carbon Nano Tube (CNT) devices are made in the lab, but it is too hard to mass-produce.

I read the writing, 'There's Plenty of Room at the Bottom'(Richard Feynman)
He said that Bottom-up approach. Maybe no one imagines method of Bottom-up production engineering. It is amazing that he dreamed Nano-technology in 1959.
