4.Analysis and Discussion
Diode parameter extraction refers to the determination of coefficients of an analytic model from measurements(e.g.IS). It is generally required because some model parameters will not have analytic expressions(e.g.n), these are generally referred to as fitting parameters. Additionally analytic expressions for parameters are derived using simplifications which limit accuracy(e.g. uniform step function)-analytic formulation is still useful to know how parameter varies or what a sensible value is. Also some variations in doping or area is inevitable between devices, causing variation in model parameters from one device to the next.
