본문내용

It was a few years ago that Korea celebrated joining the OECD, the rich nations club, as the second nation in Asia to join next to Japan. Korea's achievement in acceding to the OECD indicated that Korea's economic management and institutions were, in general, in line with international norms. Korea's membership rendered a particularly significant policy implication for developing economies in the sense that Korea was genuinely the first developing nation that joined the club. The four nations that joined the OECD after it was established in 1961 were Japan (in 1964), Finland (in 1969), Australia (in 1971) and New Zealand (in 1973), whose economies were generally regarded as advanced.
