Arnold van Gennep, an anthropologist, attracted public attention by making a word “Rite of passage” while he was studying about customs in various countries. The word, Rite of passage, means a formal ceremony that people pass through from birth to death. From this time, people had studied a symbol and meaning of Rite of Passage earnestly. Traditionally, Rite of Passage such as birth, becoming an adult, marriage and funeral has an important meaning in every country. However, Coming-of-age Ceremony is worthy of notice about a fact that it is considered as a more special ceremony. For a person, it is not only a turning point of realizing that he or she becomes an adult but an acceptance as a social member socially.
