In some countries, people are no longer allowed to smoke in many public places and office buildings. Do you think this is a good rule or a bad rule? Use specific reasons and details to support your position.
Anti-smoking sentiment has led to the prohibition of smoking in more and more places. First it was places where smoking was dangerous, like theatres or gas stations. Later, modes of public transportation, like buses and planes, forbade passengers to smoke. Now, it is often proposed to ban smoking in office buildings and public places. Although the desire to reduce public exposure to harmful smoke is a good idea, I think banning smoking in public is bad for 2 reasons: it pushes smokers into hiding and removes public pressure from smokers to quit.
