Problems with screen quota system
The screen quota system started in 1927 for the first time in United Kingdom’s parliament. The parliament enacted ‘Cinematography Act’, which contained a regulation obliging all theatres to screen more than 30% of British films in United Kingdom. Afterwards, other countries in Europe, South America and Asia such as France, Italy among others implemented this system. This system has been in place in Korea since 1967.
